چکیده
Abstract Semeru is the highest volcano on island of Java and one Indonesia’s volcanoes that has a potential threat pyroclastic flows. The eruption often shows transition pattern between explosive effusive styles. An increased eruptive activity occurred in 2021 with series explosions dominated first two thirds year then to flows December 2021. On 4 2021, dome collapse triggered significant reached maximum distance 16 km from crater resulted 51 casualties. In this paper, we aimed study dynamics magma movement depth surface assessing style eruptions visual, seismic deformation monitoring data. We analyzed data throughout volcanic system consists stations, 5 stations (2 tiltmeters 3 GPS stations), 2 Web Camera/CCTV. Our analysis indicates large were by excess pressure at shallow depths few hours before events. Deep earthquakes are relatively after lava or flows, possibly caused sudden decrease hydrostatic rock mass around pocket, thus triggering gas expansion. Deformation using tiltmeter Argosuko Jawar inflation deep source since 15 August Since 7 November measurement shown deflation patterns which indicate reservoir shallower reservoir. After 21 November, was observed again, indicating an increase supply pocket. results modeling vector period eruption, 1 – showed anomaly form volume > 1.7 about 0.84 million/m3. Between 31 flow, 8 km. addition, also 5.6 deflationary overpressure.

Using Wind Data to Predict the Risk of Volcanic Eruption: An Example from Damavand Volcano, Iran
Damavand volcano is located 60 km to the East North- East of Tehran. It is a dormant stratovolcano outcrop in the Alborz Mountains of northern Iran and is the highest mountain (5670 m) in the Middle East and West Asia. Mazandaran Province, one of the most populous provinces by population density, Semnan and Gorgan provinces further east are neighbours of the Damavand. Volcanism in Damavand goes...
متن کاملVolcano Deformation Monitoring Using GPS
Volcanic eruptions are often very destructive events, having a massive impact on the natural and human environment. In order to mitigate the effect of volcanic hazards such as pyroclastic flows, lahars and tsunamis it is necessary to closely monitor volcanoes. Ground surface deformation is recognised as a reliable indicator of an impending eruption and can give clues to magmatic processes at de...
متن کاملSeismic anisotropy beneath Ruapehu volcano: a possible eruption forecasting tool.
The orientation of crustal seismic anisotropy changed at least twice by up to 80 degrees because of volcanic eruptions at Ruapehu Volcano, New Zealand. These changes provide the basis for a new monitoring technique and possibly for future midterm eruption forecasting at volcanoes. The fast anisotropic direction was measured during three seismometer deployments in 1994, 1998, and 2002, providing...
متن کاملPredictability of Volcano Eruption: lessons from a basaltic effusive volcano
Volcano eruption forecast remains a challenging and controversial problem despite the fact that data from volcano monitoring significantly increased in quantity and quality during the last decades. This study uses pattern recognition techniques to quantify the predictability of the 15 Piton de la Fournaise (PdlF) eruptions in the 1988-2001 period using increase of the daily seismicity rate as a...
متن کاملRelative seismic velocity variations correlate with deformation at Kīlauea volcano
Seismic noise interferometry allows the continuous and real-time measurement of relative seismic velocity through a volcanic edifice. Because seismic velocity is sensitive to the pressurization state of the system, this method is an exciting new monitoring tool at active volcanoes. Despite the potential of this tool, no studies have yet comprehensively compared velocity to other geophysical obs...
